About Me
Hello! I'm Jonathan Spiteri.
For more than 20 years, my career has centred on helping organisations formulate strategy, strengthen performance and deliver complex transformations. I have worked across different industries and international markets, with responsibilities spanning strategic formulation and planning, portfolio leadership, governance, operating models, technology, organisational change and capability development.
Today, I lead Strategy and Transformation Services Ltd. as its Founder and CEO and serve as President of the PMI Malta Chapter. I also contribute to the profession through speaking engagements, executive coaching and participation in international industry award juries.
My work covers both strategy formulation and execution. I help organisations clarify their direction, make informed strategic choices and establish the governance, capabilities and ways of working needed to deliver their priorities.
The experience gained throughout my career also informed my book, Driving Successful Transformations, in which I set out an approach to addressing the strategic, operational and human aspects of organisational change.
Industries
Working across different industries has taught me that no single approach can be applied to every organisation. Each sector has its own regulatory demands, customer expectations, operating pressures and pace of change.
I draw on lessons from across these settings while adapting my approach to the organisation’s specific context, priorities and existing capabilities. This breadth of experience allows me to bring different perspectives to a challenge without losing sight of the realities of the industry in which the organisation operates.
Experience
My experience extends from defining strategic direction to establishing the structures and ways of working required to deliver it. It includes strategic planning and oversight, portfolio, programme and project leadership, business process redesign, organisational and cultural change, innovation, product development, enterprise architecture, software development, coaching and policy development.
I do not view these as isolated disciplines. Strategy, governance, technology, processes and people must work together. This broader perspective helps me identify where the real constraints lie and focus attention on the changes most likely to improve organisational performance.
Education
My academic background spans business administration, information systems and industrial electronics. I have complemented this foundation with professional development across portfolio, programme and project management, organisational transformation, enterprise architecture, Agile ways of working and process improvement.
I do not view qualifications as an end in themselves. Their value lies in providing different ways to assess a situation, ask better questions and select approaches that fit the organisation, rather than applying the same methodology to every challenge.
